LifeKeeper Protection Suite for SQL High Availability

The LifeKeeper Protection Suite for SQL Server provides a comprehensive set of tools to address all areas of SQL business continuity, including SQL data protection, SQL disaster recovery and SQL high availability. Although Microsoft provides tools to address some of these concerns, there is no single, easy to use native Microsoft tool that addresses all of these as fully and as easily as the LifeKeeper Protection Suite for SQL Server.

LifeKeeper's active monitoring helps to ensure the highest level of availability; going beyond just checking whether the server is alive, as seen in many other products. LifeKeeper also verifies that SQL is responding by doing periodic queries of the system databases as well as any user specified databases. LifeKeeper for SQL server can be configured in any one of the following configurations:

  • Replicated or shared storage clustering
  • 2-node active/passive cluster
  • active/active cluster with multiple instances of SQL
  • N+1 cluster (multiple active with single backup)
  • Cascading failover (up to 32 nodes)
